Story

It was a hot afternoon in the jungle. Most animals were resting in the shade.
Sheru the Lion was walking near the old jungle path, checking his territory like a good king.

Suddenly—

SNAP!

A rope trap caught Sheru’s leg, and a heavy net fell from above.

ROARRR!

Sheru roared loudly, trying to break free, but the ropes were too strong. The more he moved, the tighter the net became.

Not far away, Chintu the mouse heard the roar.

That’s Sheru! He’s in trouble!” Chintu said and ran as fast as his tiny legs could go.

When he reached the trap, Sheru was struggling.

Chintu… don’t come close,”

Sheru said. “This is a hunter’s trap.”

Chintu looked at the thick ropes and said,
Big problems are just many small ropes tied together. I can handle small ropes.

Sheru stopped moving and trusted him.

Chintu started gnawing the rope with his tiny teeth.

One rope cut.
Then another.
Then another.

It was slow, very slow.

Soon Milu, Bobo, and Raju also arrived, but they stayed quiet so hunters wouldn’t hear anything.

After a long time—

SNAP!

The last rope broke, and the net fell apart. Sheru was free!

Sheru stood up and looked at tiny Chintu.

You are the smallest animal in the jungle,” Sheru said,
but today, you did the biggest job.

Chintu smiled and said,
Size is measured in body, not in courage.

Sheru gently placed his big paw near Chintu like a thank you.

From that day on, whenever someone asked,
Who is the bravest animal in the jungle?

Sheru always answered,

“The one who doesn’t run when a friend is in trouble.”

And everyone knew he was talking about Chintu the mouse.
